Jakarta up 1.42%
share prices closed 1.42 percent higher Thursday as international support for reconstruction in tsunami-hit provinces raised expectations the impact on the economy would be limited.
The Jakarta Stock Exchange composite index closed up 14.455 points at a new record of 1,029 on 2.34 billion shares worth 2.31 trillion rupiah (US$246.9 million). The previous record of 1,018.5 was set on Tuesday.
Gainers led losers 80 to 42, while 86 stocks were unchanged....
