Govt revenue rises 5.4% on higher taxes
Thailand's government, which last year posted its first budget surplus since the 1997 Asian financial crisis, said its revenue rose 5.4 percent in January on higher tax collection. Revenue last month rose to 99.7 billion baht ($2.5 billion) from 94.6 billion baht a year earlier, the finance ministry said in an e-mailed statement today. The receipts were 0.2 percent higher than the ministry's target of 99.5 billion baht, it said. The figures are net of tax reimbursements in the month.......
