Banks holding out well against fluctuations
BANGKOK, Sept 18 (Reuters) - Thailand's benchmark stock
index (.SETI: Quote, Profile, Research) was up 0.24 points, or 0.03 percent, at 802.89
points in thin turnover of 7.52 billion baht ($219.5 million)
at 0735 GMT on Tuesday.
Stocks on the move included:
- SMC Motors (SMC.BK: Quote, Profile, Research), a distributor of Volvo and Mazda
cars in Thailand, jumped 9.2 percent to more than a two-month
high of 1.79 baht after the firm said it expected to conclude
its private placement......
