Mass transit rail plans to ease jams
The government has announced expanded plans for an integrated mass transit rail system covering most of Bangkok and its surrounding areas, with the aim of improving urban communication and easing traffic congestion.
Transport Minister Pongsak Raktapongpaisal revealed that the system, which might be built over the coming years, will see three new electric train lines added to seven previously plannedroutes. The 10 lines will also have links to the existing underground and Skytrain systems.
