Central bank backs specialised bank performance upgrade
BANGKOK, Nov 20 - Bank of Thailand Governor Tarisa Watanagase on Sunday added her support for a proposed upgrading of performance of specialised state-owned financial institutions to meet the same standards as those of private commercial banks.
The Fiscal Policy Office recently proposed that the central bank have a role in supervising the specialised banks to ensure they could perform at the same standard level as that of commercial banks.
