Baht to strengthen on current account

(Bloomberg) JPMorgan Chase & Co, the third- biggest U.S. bank, reversed its forecast for a weaker Thai baht, calling for gains after the nation's current account returned to a surplus.
The trade deficit narrowed in July from a month earlier on higher demand for exports and declining oil imports, the commerce ministry said yesterday. Thailand on July 31 unexpectedly posted a current-account surplus of $65 million for June, compared with a $936 million deficit for May.
