CP 7-Eleven Plc, the world's fourth-largest operator of convenience store franchise, said profit was little changed in the second quarter as an increase in costs countered growth in sales.
Net income rose to 387.97 million baht ($10 million), or 0.09 baht a share, from 386.59 million baht, or 0.09 baht a share, a year earlier, the Bangkok-based company said in a filing to the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) last Friday.
Sales of goods rose 5.7 percent to 23.8 billion baht. Selling and administrative expenses climbed 28 percent to 6.1 billion baht, CP 7-Eleven said.
CP 7-Eleven operated as many as 3,311 7-Eleven stores in Thailand as of December 2005, an increase of 450 from a year earlier. The company also operates hypermarkets in China under the Lotus name.
