Immigration police have arrested a 30-year-old Danish man who will be deported to his home country to face fraud charges, police said Thursday.

Martin Damslund Jensen was arrested in downtown Bangkok Wednesday, after a request from the Danish embassy. Police said he was wanted on an arrest warrant issued by court in Herlev, northwest of Copenhagen, reports Bangkokpost.com

Jensen fled to Thailand in November last year, after he was accused of fraud and falsifying documents in Denmark.

Police said he bought a car with counterfeit documents, and defrauded businesses of about 30 million baht in August 2006.

The suspect was living with his Thai wife in the northeastern province of Kalasin before he travelled to Bangkok Wednesday and was apprehended.
