Bangkok, September 12: In what seems to be a welcome relief for the people, the retail price of benzene fuel has been reduced by Bt0.40 a liter, owing to the reduction of the world's oil prices.
The new retail price of premium benzene fuel will be Bt26.79 a liter, while that of regular benzene will be Bt25.99 a liter. However, the price of diesel will remain unchanged, at Bt26.74 a liter, reports the Nation.
Rising oil prices have had a huge impact, directly and indirectly, on all classes of people. The price of Dubai crude has jumped 186 per cent since 2002, while the retail diesel price in Thailand has shot up 109 per cent compared with 2002. The price of octane 95 petrol has risen 90 per cent over the same period.
The oil price hikes have affected many sectors, particularly businesses that depend largely on transportation.
