2006 marked as a year of alternative fuel

To follow up a campaign for energy conservation of the country, the Energy Ministry has designated 2006 as the year of alternative fuel consumption.
Energy Minister Viset Choopiban on Wednesday revealed that the ministry would continue to focus on encouraging the consumption of alternative energy, including natural gas for vehicle (NGV), gasohol and bio-diesel next year.
It would also promote and finance the power generation from renewable energy by using paddy husks as fuel, he noted.
