How slopes affect the loft

An uphill lie increases club face loft ( it points more up towards the sky) and forces the ball to fly higher than usual.
The steeper the slope the greater the loft. The ball flies higher and lands short of the target. For instance, on an upslope a 7 iron may have the loft of an 8 or 9 iron, depending on the steepness of the slope.
You should take a lower club than normal to compensate for distance. For example, on a normal lie a 7 iron will travel 150 yards distance. When on an uphill...
