The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), Language@Click Language School,
The Nation newspaper, and SCG Paper Co., Ltd. are co-hosting the "ELLIS
Championship 2007" competition with prizes worth over THB 300,000 and
a trophy granted by H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
The "ELLIS Championship 2007" is an opportunity for college students to
demonstrate their English-language skills. It also complements an existing
project in which SET gave 2,000 copies of ELLIS English-learning software to
the 49 Thai universities. Students, university staff and the nearby community
should all benefit, SET's Capital Market Education Division Chairman Mr.
Punsak Vejanurug said.
Mr. Suhat Sungchaya, Chairman of L@C Education Co., Ltd., which operates
Language@Click school and is the sole distributor in Thailand of ELLIS
software, expressed his appreciation for being a co-host of this competition.
He said it should be a great opportunity for Thai youth to develop their
English-language skills which is important in today's world.
An English-language newspaper like The Nation plays a part in developing the
English-reading skills of Thai readers besides providing news and information.
The Nation not only helps publicize the competition program, but also takes
part in content and activity formulation, Mr. Pana Janviroj, president of
The Nation said.
The head of HR External Relations at SCG Paper, Ms. Thantarath Pothanant,
added that SCG is pleased to take part in this project, as it places
importance on human resource development.
Applications can be made between September 21 and November 30, 2007 at
49 eligible universities. For further details and a complete list of these
universities, please call Language@Click language school at 0-2656-7070,
