Indonesian share prices closed down 0.29 percent but were off their lows on late interest in Bank Mandiri and Gudang Garam, dealers said.
The Jakarta Stock Exchange composite index closed down 3.014 points at 1,045.773, off a low of 1,034.974, on volume of 3.01 billion shares worth 6.96 trillion rupiah (705 million dollars.)
