share prices closed 0.6 percent higher Thursday as fund managers sought property stocks and select blue chips in portfolio adjustments ahead of the year-end holidays, dealers said.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index closed up 84.22 points or 0.60 percent at 14,235.30, off a high of 14,254.85, on turnover of HK$17.14 billion (US$2.20 billion). The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index was up 21.50 points or 0.45 percent at 4,783.90.
