  5. PrivateNote will send a verification email to your provided email address. Locate the PrivateNote email in your inbox.
  6. That’s it! You have created your PrivateNote account and set up your secure messaging environment.

Importing and adding contacts

After creating your account, the next step is to build your contact list on PrivateNote. Using the platform, you securely message friends, family, or colleagues. Here’s how you can import and add contacts:

  • Log in to your PrivateNote account and access your dashboard.
  • On the left sidebar, click the “Contacts” tab.
  • To import contacts, click the “Import Contacts” button. A CSV file or your email address book are two ways to import contacts.
  • If you want to add a contact manually, click the “+ New Contact” button. Enter the contact’s name, username, or email address. If you know their PrivateNote ID, you can add them as a contact.
  • Once you have added or imported your contacts, you view them in the “Contacts” tab. You can organize them into groups or assign labels for easy management.

Securely messaging, calling, and sharing files

Now that you have set up your PrivateNote account with the necessary security measures, it’s time to use it for your daily communications. Here’s how you securely message, call, and share files with your contacts:

  1. Messaging – Open the “Messages” tab and select the contact you wish to message. Type your message as you normally would, and hit send. Your message will be encrypted and securely delivered to the recipient.
  2. Voice and video calls – PrivateNote offers end-to-end encrypted voice and video calling. Go to the “Calls” tab, select a contact, and initiate a call. You can be assured that your conversations are private and secure.
  3. File sharing – To securely share files, open a conversation with a contact and click the “Attach File” button. PrivateNote supports various file types, including documents, images, and videos. Check here to investigate this contact form.

Managing your privatenote settings

  • Privacy settings – Under the “Settings” tab, you control who adds you as a contact, whether your online status is visible, and whether read receipts are sent.
  • Notification settings – Customize your notification preferences to suit your needs. You are notified when a message is sent, delivered, or read, setting different notification tones for specific contacts.
  • Account settings – You update your basic account information, such as your name, username, and email address. You turn certain features on or off, like message forwarding or automatic message deletion.

Remember to stay vigilant, utilize the available security features, and encourage your contacts to do the same. Together, we ensure a safer and more private online messaging experience.
